Fresh back from the gym, au naturel.
A very slight drop in weight today - down to 64.5kg (142.1lb). Today I'm not so worried about that, because I'm trying to focus more on the rejuvenating going on inside.
So last evening I made dinner for the family, and made things I'd like to eat. I enjoyed it, actually, because I like to cook for people. I realised I've been missing that aspect while I've been juicing, because the family have been taking great care not to make me be around food while I'm juicing. It's been hard to convince them that I'm not actually starving over here. I don't think they really believe me.
My daughter has some serious reservations about my juicing for such a long time, and for a while yesterday I thought maybe she was right. Mostly I thought that because it was past juice time and I was hungry. I do think that motivation will be a hard thing to hang on to from time to time. But after discussing it with my husband, he very sensibly suggested looking to 30 days as a short-term goal, and then commit to another 30 days after that if I feel up to it. And then 30 days after that. Of course he's right - 90 days is such a big picture all in one piece.
And look - today is day ten - I'm one-ninth of the way there - or 11%. I'm on the way, and I feel really good, actually. Did a good, hard, one-hour's cardio at the gym this morning, and that was no problem at all. Later in the juice feast I'll be adding some weights, but the general advice is not to do that until around day 60, as until then the body is in a full-on cleansing physiology.
www.juicefeasting.com gives a great chart showing the whole timeline of an extended juice feast, what to do, and when to do it. And a whole lot of other terrific information.
Yesterday I drank: 12 oz coconut water (yum), 3 quarts green juice (celery, cucumber, romaine, kale, dandelion with either carrot, apple, peach, or pineapple) and 1 quart complete melon - seeds, skin and all.
Still haven't tackled the meditation yet - there never seems to be enough time in the day! Which, of course, is the point of meditation and that's what you get out of it.
That's all I have for today. See you tomorrow.
