Good morning - back to work here, after the Labor Day weekend.
I'm still feeling like Lucy van Pelt, so obviously something is being cleared out, somewhere.
I've decided to put up a photo once a week as opposed to every day, unless something riveting happens. A weekly pic should still show any progression in the state of my skin and face.
Weight this morning is the same as yesterday - 64.7kg (142.6lb). I've been putting my daily weights on a graph, and it's very clearly levelling out now. Don't know if that's a good thing or not. Is it connected with the quart of watermelon juice I drank yesterday? Too sugary?
I think I'll carry on as I have been doing (ie 3 quarts mainly green juice, and then one fruity one in the afternoon) for a few more days and monitor the weight. It may be that it's too high in sugars and is affecting the weight loss, or it could be that this is just a natural plateau; that my body is just saying 'whew' for a few days before it starts working hard again on some more detox. Or it could be that I'm consuming just the right amount of calories for my body and activity level.
So I'll just be a bit patient and see what happens next.
So, just for the record, yesterday I drank 3 green juices - dandelion greens, romaine, collard, celery and cucumber, variously mixed with apple, peach, orange, ginger & lime (NB apple ginger and lime together are DELICIOUS), and one all watermelon - skin, seeds and all.
No other problems to report; all is moving along well now - no constipation or feelings of cold. Perhaps a little low energy, but I felt like that before I started the feast.
I can't get to the gym today because of work commitments, but will go early tomorrow. My 20-year old daughter comes with me and shouts 'hup two three four' at me continuously while I'm there, so there will be no chance of slacking, and I suspect I probably need a good sweat to shake off this blue mood I'm in right now.
Still, need to look at the positives - I've completed seven days, haven't felt hungry for a second, and I've lost 3.9kg (8.5lb). Of course, if I were to stop now, that weight would probably come straight back on.
When I did Jenny Craig I steadily lost a kilo each week. Then again, I was always starving, and it included meat, wheat, dairy and lots of artificial sweeteners and chemicals.
Later, as this juice feast progresses and I have to look at re-entering the real food world, I need to focus on planning my meals and my shopping more efficiently, so I don't fall into the trap of being hungry and not having anything interesting in the house.
I have a big work day today, so I'd better get my juice in and get going.
